Sentient Jet, a private jet travel company that is part of Flexjet, reported a milestone of over 1.6 million metric tons of CO2 offset since the program’s inception in 2021.
Now in its fifth year, the company has remained committed to reducing its environmental impact through measurable action. With an offset rate of 300%, every Sentient Jet flight is fully emissions-neutral.
Sentient Jet is developing additional advanced technology to add to its sustainability program, including a new, interactive offset calculator that will further empower card owners to track and understand their environmental impact.
“Sentient Jet has built its reputation on innovation and finding new ways to make private aviation smarter, more seamless, and more responsible. We were one of the first to recognize that sustainability needed to be part of that equation, and since launching our program, we’ve remained committed to leading in this space,” said Alan Walsh, President of Sentient Jet, in a statement. “As we build on our 25+ years of industry leadership, we remain focused on consistency and accountability in our sustainability efforts. Private aviation has a responsibility to evolve, and we’ll continue to invest in solutions that make private aviation forward-looking.”
Through its partnership with environmental leader 4AIR, a rating system focused on comprehensive sustainability in private aviation, Sentient Jet’s carbon offset program goes beyond traditional aviation sustainability programs by offsetting all aviation emissions. This includes water vapor, aerosols and nitrous oxide, which together account for two thirds of emissions an aircraft produces when flying.
With a continued investment of millions of dollars in sustainability to date along with planned future initiatives, Sentient Jet has contributed funds to wind power projects in the U.S, Asia and South America and renewable energy projects in Turkey and India.
