Modivcare Lowers Emissions by 12%

Modivcare Inc., a technology-enabled healthcare services company, announced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 location-based and market-based GHG emissions decreased 12% and 11% year-over-year, respectively. 

In 2023, the company disclosed Scope 3 emissions for certain categories for the first time.

Modivcare’s headquarters building is LEED Gold certified and has features embedded in the design to reduce energy use. The majority of its equipment purchased in the U.S. is energy efficient and ENERGY STAR certified. 

The company monitors and manages the energy impact of its two data centers as part of its effort to grow its cloud-based operations and reduce its energy use and carbon footprint.

With millions of trips each year, a  large part of the company’s energy use stems from its transportation operations. Modivcare is dedicated to lowering its transportation impact over time by leveraging technology and innovation to optimize routes — including an optimization package that will reduce its collective footprint — and engaging with independent transportation providers regarding carbon-reduction goals and electric vehicle usage. 

As announced in the company's 2023 Sustainability Report, as of March 2023, 80% of rides provided by Modivcare's NEMT segment were arranged digitally.
