SED research projects rapid growth in distributed energy technology deployment

Microgrids, energy storage, fuel cells, EV charging infrastructure and onsite solar are slated for dramatic growth, according to results of the inaugural State of Distributed Energy Resource Deployment Study, conducted by Smart Energy Decisions. This landmark study explores plans, drivers and perceived obstacles for deployment of behind-the-meter technologies by large electric power users.

Survey respondents include 100+ large electric power users at commercial, industrial, higher education, and government organizations who have already or are considering the deployment of DERs. Smart Energy Decisions Founder and Editorial Director, John Failla said: “We’re excited to bring the first research-based insights on the state of DER deployment by large electric power users to the industry”.

A deep dive into these and other results from the groundbreaking State of Distributed Energy Resource Deployment Study will be presented at the upcoming Distributed Energy Forum, June 24-26, 2019  in Denver. The Forum will offer an opportunity for energy, sustainability, and facility management professionals at all levels of experience to learn best practices in deploying these behind-the-meter resources.
