PM Hotel Group achieves 100% renewable electricity

PM Hotel Group is officially purchasing renewable energy to cover 100% of its electricity needs across its hotel portfolio.

In an announcement of this achievement made Feb. 26, the hotel management company also celebrated joining the EPA’s Green Power Partnership and is the first Top-100 hotel management company in the U.S. to do so.

"We are passionate about demonstrating a genuine respect for the environment and are proud to be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a Green Power Partner," said Christie Berlin, Director of Sustainability and Facilities at PM Hotel Group, said in a statement.   "Using green power helps lower our emissions footprint, while also sending an important message to our colleagues across the hospitality industry that green power is an affordable, accessible choice that can and will make a difference." 

PM Hotel Group estimates that their total annual power usage is 3,561,814 kWh, all of which will be powered through RECs, bundled third-party supply agreements and utility green tariffs. In 2019, they saw a 15% year over year increase of the solar energy generated for their portfolio.
