SED Premieres Minority Business Enterprise Supplier Program
Smart Energy Decisions announces the Minority Business Enterprise Program (MBE), to help qualifying businesses participate in SED events, as a continuation of its commitment to Inspire Diversity in Energy. The program features special pricing on sponsorships of SED events and webinars for supplier businesses owned by minorities, women, LGBTQ, veterans, and certified small businesses.
Suppliers can qualify for the Minority Business Enterprise program by providing one of the following:
- Certification from any of the following organizations or affiliates:
- National Minority Supplier Diversity Council
- Women’s Business Enterprise Council
- National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
- National Veterans Business Development Council
- Section 8A Small Business Certification
- Self-certifying affidavit
“With the support of our community, we are proud to provide opportunities and create partnerships among energy customers and diverse suppliers,” said John Failla, Smart Energy Decisions Founder and CEO. “Through this MBE program, we want to spotlight suppliers who will greatly benefit from the relationships they will be able to form at our events, which have a proven track record of leading to successful business deals. We look forward to welcoming these suppliers to our upcoming Net Zero Forum, September 11-13, 2022 in Phoenix, and the Renewable Energy Forum, December 6-8, 2022 in Huntington Beach, California.
Among the programs Smart Energy Decisions has created previously:
- The “Inspiring Diversity in Energy” series at SED events, making Smart Energy Decisions the first energy industry events to devote focused educational sessions on the topic
- Featured content in Smart Energy Decisions media outlets over the past three years
- Financial and promotional support for AABE (Association of American Blacks in Energy), DiCE (Diversity in Clean Energy), and BOSS
