Gardewine Grows EV Transportation Fleet
Gardewine, a Canadian transportation and logistics company, announced that it added seven electric vans and one electric MV series truck to its fleet of vehicles.
The Ford E-Transit courier vans run on a single 198 kW electric motor on the rear axle, with a 68.0-kilowatt-hour (usable) lithium-ion battery and integrated with a single-speed transmission. The connectivity suite of management tools will allow Gardewine to monitor energy consumption, charge speeds, distance to empty and more in order to better optimize its overall running costs and fleet uptime.
The International electric MV series truck includes an electrified, fully integrated powertrain as well as a 210 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack capable of moving loads up to 13,000lbs.
“We're excited to make this announcement,” Mr. Darin Downey, President and Chief Operating Officer of Gardewine, said in a statement. “As we announced in October 2021, having the opportunity to bring our fleet to the next level of innovation and follow through with our commitment to reduce emissions is important to us. We made this commitment, we stuck to it, and here we are with a sustainable solution we believe in.”
