SHI International Commits to SBTi Emissions Reduction
IT solutions provider SHI International announced it will commit to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to creat their emissions reduction goals.
The company will develop a plan that can be approved by SBTi and is part of SHI’s current strategy to lower energy consumption and waste, continue large-scale recycling programs, increase solar energy production and make facilities modifications.
Once the company receives acceptance from the SBTi program, SHI International will develop a plan to deliver its net zero goals.
“Making a commitment to SBTi that will lead to an approved plan to deliver carbon reduction goals is now a key pillar of our already well-established ESG strategy,” said James Prior, Chief Financial Officer at SHI International, in a statement. “Internally, we have a strong focus on our responsibilities to the environment and our communities. Working with the SBTi and other bodies to report transparently on our actions and results demonstrates to customers, partners and staff that we are fully committed to ambitious ESG goals.”
