Whistl Commits to 2045 Net Zero Strategy

Whistl, a postal delivery company, revealed its plans to achieve net zero by 2045. Its near-term goal is to reduce emissions by 21% by 2030. By 2045, CO2 emissions are expected to be reduced by 95%.

Earlier this year, Whistl embarked on a consultation with stakeholders. Following this engagement, the company launched its ESG strategy, developing a comprehensive decarbonization program to help fulfill its net-zero strategy.

Specifically, Whistl aims to develop a 100% zero and ultra-low emission small van fleet by 2030 and a 100% zero and ultra-low emission HGV fleet by 2040.

The company also commits to optimizing the energy efficiency of its facilities by achieving 100% procured renewable electricity across all its sites by the end of 2025.

To ensure responsible supplier engagement, Whistl will collaborate with carriers and suppliers to obtain carbon data and set science-based net zero targets through an engagement program. The company revealed a framework for collaborating with suppliers to achieve its net zero ambitions.

Additionally, Whistl will launch training programs that require 80% of individuals to complete sustainability and net zero-related training by the end of 2024.
