TreeHouse Foods Lowers Emissions by 4.4%

TreeHouse Foods, a snacking and beverage manufacturer, lowered its Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 4.4%.

The company also set a goal to lower Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 25% by 2030 and assess baseline Scope 3 calculations and establish a reduction goal by 2025.

As detailed in its 2024 Environmental, Social & Governance Report, TreeHouse Foods completed 25 projects that specifically focused on emissions reduction, which are cumulatively estimated to result in a reduction of approximately 414 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MT CO2e) annually in 2023.

"We focused on our ESG strategy in 2023, beginning the year with a prioritization assessment that helped us refine our areas of focus and guide our 2030 ESG Goals and this ESG report," said Steve Oakland, Chairman, CEO and President, in a statement. "Our progress against our ESG goals has benefited more than our environment and our communities – it has also strengthened our strategic partnerships with our customers on similar ESG journeys."

The 2024 TreeHouse Foods ESG Report is aligned to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) standards, and the company additionally anticipates publicly disclosing their responses to the 2023 CDP Survey in September 2024.
