City of Pueblo, Colorado Schools Add Solar
Local municipalities, including the City of Pueblo, Pueblo Community College and the Pueblo County School District, will benefit from the addition of two operational solar projects in Colorado totaling 2.5 megawatts.
The entities entered into a partnership with the Altus Power Community Solar program, part of the Black Hills Energy Colorado community solar program, according to a statement.
The clean electric power generated by the new projects will benefit several local government, educational and corporate enterprises, including the City of Pueblo, Posada Pueblo emergency shelter, Pueblo Community College, Pueblo County School District 70 and Premier Members Credit Union, offsetting the equivalent of nearly 54,462 metric tons of carbon emissions over the life of the project.
Altus Power, a commercial scale provider of clean electric power and operational solar projects, provided the ground-mounted systems.
As the first state to introduce Community Solar, Colorado is a leader in harnessing its solar resources to reduce carbon emissions and deliver more affordable and sustainable energy solutions to its municipalities and residents.
