HP targets 40% renewable energy by 2020 on path toward 100%

The reduction, the company wrote, is attributable to "the ongoing transition from larger desktops to smaller, less energy- and materials-intensive desktops, notebooks, and tablets, as well as improvements in server energy efficiency and reduced printer sales." The company is pushing for carbon emission reduction across its supply chain, operations and products.
"Climate change is the most challenging environmental issue of our lifetime,” Nate Hurst, HP’s chief sustainability and social impact officer said in a statement. "HP is committed to being an environmental steward; therefore, we continue to measure and reduce the impact of our products, operations and supply chain activities.
