REIT nabs 100% Gold, Platinum LEED certification
New York City-based real estate investment trust Paramount Group Inc.'s has announced that its entire portfolio of office buildings has achieved either Gold or Platinum LEED certification.
The company said Feb. 13 that the accomplishment reflects the significant emphasis Paramount places on sustainability, environmental efficiency, tenant service and property management. Each of the buildings are also Energy Star certified via the U.S. EPA.
"For our entire portfolio to reach the two highest levels of LEED certification is a remarkable achievement, and something that we are very proud to have attained," Paramount Chairman, President and CEO Albert Behler said in a statement. "This accomplishment reflects on the quality of our assets and our ongoing commitment to good corporate citizenship and sustainability initiatives. These certifications also help us manage operating costs, attract and retain premium tenants and ultimately enhance portfolio value."
Paramount's other environmental and operational achievements include, most recently, the Building Owners and Managers Association of New York awarding two of its properties – 900 Third Avenue and 712 Fifth Avenue – the Pinnacle Award, in addition to recognizing 900 Third Avenue with the 'Grand Pinnacle' award, the top prize in the competition.
