BDO USA Plans to Lower Emissions by 50%
BDO USA, LLP, an accounting and advisory firm, plans to halve emissions by 2030, achieve net zero by or before 2050 and set science-based emissions reduction targets to be validated through the Science Based Targets initiative.
The company also set goals to implement multiple strategies to reduce the environmental impact of its business activities and develop a responsible sourcing program by putting systems in place to ensure that a significant portion of the firm’s suppliers share its environmental and social values and commitments.
BDO provided details in its first sustainability report, which discusses the progress made and initiatives undertaken in its fiscal year 2022 (May 1, 2021 – April 30, 2022). The report was issued in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Universal Standards and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) 2018 standard for the Professional & Commercial Services industry, and in alignment with the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The company has signed the United Nations (U.N.) Global Compact and joined the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance.
