Pearl Crop Inc. to Build 2.2 MW Commercial Solar Project
Pearl Crop, Inc., a food processing company with facilities spanning central California. announced a design build agreement for a 2.2 MWdc commercial solar project.
The agreement, signed with Renewable America (RNA), a California-based distributed energy resources provider, includes four different projects across three regions: Ripon, Linden, and Stockton, CA. The goal of the project is to develop a carbon-free energy source for Pearl Crop, whose operations have high energy consumption demands and operating costs.
The new build will offset 86% of the Stockton facility’s annual energy usage with solar power, with the cost savings for the single location totaling an estimated 53.2% of its total utility bill.
"Renewable America is known for its extensive solar development expertise and its commitment to the surrounding communities. We're thrilled to be partnering with them to implement solar solutions that streamline Pearl Crop's operations and align with California's goals of a clean-energy future," said Ulash Turkan, CEO of Pearl Crop, in a statement.
The projects are set to include approximately 5,400 410-watt monocrystalline solar panels, complete with ballasted and rail-mounted systems, across an area of 251,114 square feet.
Building is slated to begin in December 2023 with an expected completion date of Pearl Crop’s full portfolio by the summer of 2024.
