Wisconsin manufacturer Oshkosh cuts energy use 10% in 2015, receives state recognition
Wisconsin-based manufacturing company Oshkosh Corp. was recently recognized by the state's utilities as a corporate leader in energy efficiency.
Oshkosh, which designs, manufacturers and markets of a range of access equipment, commercial, fire & emergency, military and specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies, was one of 14 state corporations to receive an "Excellence in Energy Efficiency" award from a statewide energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by Wisconsin's electric utilities.
Oshkosh said in a news release that it was chosen for the award primarily for: participating in strategic energy management; devoting personnel and resources to energy reduction and sustainability affairs; communicating with team members about sustainability applications for at home and at work and lastly; and implementing several energy savings projects. The company also noted its future vision and initiatives around sustainability and energy savings.
sustainability report. The company, which is also a member of the U.S. Department of Energy's Better Plants program, reported a 2015 reduction of 7% in normalized energy use across the 21 manufacturing plants included in that program.
