Toyota to host energy engineering conference
Dubbed the nation's largest energy efficiency conference, this year's World Energy Engineering Congress is being held in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 21 through Sept. 23.
Amid a heated U.S. presidential race, the future of energy policy and its impacts on energy and facility managers is expected to be among a wide array of topics addressed at this year's conference. At WEEC, presented by the Association of Energy Engineers and hosted by Toyota, key leaders in the professional energy management field will also discuss energy resiliency and security, international efficiency projects, the growing importance of water, wastewater treatment, renewable energy and leveraging data analytics.
Featured keynote opening session speakers include CNN political analyst David Gregory, who will discuss the race to the White House and its impact on energy policy; Tesla Chief Technology Officer J.B. Straubel, who will speak on energy and technology megatrends; and John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil Co., who will discuss the future of affordable energy.
The WEEC conference contains 14 tracks with more 250 speakers and session topics including industrial energy management, green and high-performance buildings, sustainable development, emerging energy trends, and big data and IoT.
