Lordestown Motors chosen for EV fleet conversions
Lordstown Motors Corp. announced April 7 that they have received a Letter of Intent from a Florida-based company specializing in fast DC and Level II EV chargers to broker 1,000 Endurances truck models for the conversion of client fleets to electric vehicles.
Innervations will use their Level II fast-charging stations and cloud-based management system to assist companies with converting their gas or diesel fleet to all-electric.
Lordstown Motors, an Ohio-based startup manufacturer of light duty fleet vehicles, bought its plant in Lordstown from GM in November after a settlement with the United Auto Workers union. Following the transaction, GM lent $40 million to get the startup off the ground, WKYC Studios reported.
According to the Tribune Chronicle, Akron-based FirstEnergy has already pledged to purchase 250 trucks for its fleet and Clean Fuels Ohio committed to helping drive the sale of 500 Endurances trucks.
