Danone's Voltic brand awarded carbon neutral certification

Volvic, a Danone bottled water brand, announced June 2 that they are officially carbon neutral and have been B Corp certified thanks to their switch to 100% renewable energy and commitment to use 100% recycled materials in their bottles by 2025.

Voltic achieved their Carbon Trust carbon neutrality certification through a variety of improvements, the biggest of which was switching to 100% renewable energy at the plain water bottling site. Additionally, they switched the transportation of 78% of their products from the bottling site to the UK to be executed by train, which emits seven times less carbon than trucks.

As part of this announcement, Voltic will also be partnering with climate solutions company South Pole to support projects that protect two billion square meters of natural ecosystems in volcanic countries like Peru, Congo and Uganda.

Voltic is now the biggest natural mineral water brand in Europe with a B Corp certification.
