Range Resources targets net zero by 2025
Range Resources Corporation recently announced that it is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2025.
The natural gas company mainly plans to hit this target through emissions reduction and the use of carbon offsets. Range also committed to reducing emissions intensity by an additional 15% between 2019 and 2025.
The company also announced that it reduced its absolute carbon emissions by 47% since 2017, representing significant progress toward its 2025 net zero target. Range also reduced its carbon emissions intensity by 80% since 2011.
“In the face of an evolving energy landscape, our business has remained resilient and nimble, ready to meet the needs and expectations of our stakeholders,” CEO Jeffrey Ventura said in an opening letter to Range’s new sustainability report. “Range’s commitment to operating safely and responsibly has always been central to our strategy, as we endeavor to deliver value to our shareholders while expanding our commitment to the environment and the communities where we work.”
