Canada Goose targets net zero by 2025
Canada Goose announced Nov. 18 its newest purpose platform, dubbed HUMANATURE, which prominently features the company’s Sustainable Impact Strategy and a target to be net zero by 2025.
The Toronto-based cold-weather outdoor apparel company outlined in its Sustainable Impact Strategy, in addition to a net zero target, a goal of achieving 100% Responsible Down Standard certification by 2021 and eliminating single-use plastics in all its owned or controlled facilities by the end of 2020.
In January, Canada Goose plans to debut its Standard Expedition Parka, which is made from recycled and undyed fabrics, 100% responsibly sourced down and has a 30% smaller carbon footprint compared to a previous model.
“Innovation is at the core of everything we do. Our approach is driven by constant improvement – testing, learning, improving – while ensuring we deliver on our commitment to quality and functionality. We innovate for the betterment of our consumers and our planet,” Woody Blackford, EVP of Product at Canada Goose, said in a statement. “We’ve turned our commitments into action in under a year. The Standard Expedition Parka is just the beginning for where we will take the brand.”
