The Home Depot Signs 100 MW Solar PPA

Beginning in 2022, The Home Depot will receive 100 megawatts of solar electricity annually from National Grid Renewables’ Noble Project in Texas. This PPA promises to lower the home improvement brands’ carbon footprint by an annual 450,000 metric tons. 

This partnership follows multiple PPAs that The Home Depot signed in 2020, which include an annual 75 solar MW from Enel Green Power and 50 MW from Invenergy. The Home Depot’s solar program also helped its residential customers install over 29,000 kW of clean energy in 2020. 

“Our partnership with National Grid Renewables reinforces our commitment to reduce our impact by continually improving the efficiency of our operations and expanding investments in renewable and alternative energy," says Ron Jarvis, Chief Sustainability Officer at The Home Depot, in a statement. "We are on track to meet or exceed our goal to procure or produce 335 megawatts of renewable or alternative energy by 2025."
