MGM Resorts Launches 100 MW Solar Array for Las Vegas Operations

MGM Resorts International is now receiving up to 90% of the daytime power needs for its 13 Las Vegas resorts from its own 100 MW solar array.

The solar installation will assist the resort chain in the pursuit of its goal to reduce emissions by 45% per square foot by 2025. The Mega Solar Array features 323,000 panels across 640 acres and will solely provide energy to MGM Resorts.

The project was developed in partnership with Invenergy through a 20-year PPA. Invenergy sold a 75% interest in the array to AEP Renewables, while Invenergy Services will provide operations and maintenance of the system

MGM Resorts also announced two new science-based goals: reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions 50% by 2030 and sourcing 100% renewable electricity in the US and 80% globally by 2030.

MGM Resorts most recently developed an 8.3 MW solar array in Mandalay Bay in 2025 and has invested over $60 million in energy efficiency for its U.S. properties between 2007 and 2019.
