Anheuser-Busch's Economic Recovery Plan Features Largest US Brewery Solar Installation
Anheuser-Busch will be using a portion of its $64 million investment into its Los Angeles brewery to construct the largest solar installation at a U.S. brewery at the facility.
The beer maker announced earlier this year that it plans to invest $1 billion over two years in its facilities across 26 states to accelerate the American economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The solar installation planned for the LA brewery is expected to cover 10% of the facility's total electricity use.
Construction on the upgrades is now underway and is expected to be completed later this year. The investment will also be used to support further sustainability projects at the site in the future.
“For over 60 years, we have been proud to be a part of the Los Angeles community. With this investment, we are continuing our support for the local economy and reaffirming our leadership on sustainability and product innovation,” Eric Gutierrez, senior general manager of the Anheuser-Busch Los Angeles brewery, said in a statement. “Reducing our environmental impact while at the same time adding jobs and expanding our ability to brew some of America’s most beloved brands is a “win-win” for the Los Angeles community.”
