Edgewell Personal Care to Lower Emissions by 2030
Edgewell Personal Care Company announced that it has furthered its commitment to climate change and transparency by disclosing its environmental performance through CDP for the first time.
Edgewell provided details on its progress in reducing energy use and associated GHG emissions as well as its efforts to mitigate climate risks across its global operations. Following leading climate science to align to a 1.5°C pathway, Edgewell recently committed to reducing its absolute GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels and using 100% renewable electricity across its global operations. The company's ambition is to go beyond this goal, achieving carbon neutrality across its global operations via Scope 1 and 2 by 2030.
"Raising the bar for ourselves and reporting our carbon impact to CDP is a big step forward in advancing our commitment to taking action on climate change," said Amy Knight, Vice President Global Sustainability, Edgewell in a statement. "I'm proud to have achieved a B- on our very first rating which reflects not only our deep commitment to environmental stewardship and our steadfast performance, but also demonstrates the dedication and passion of our 6,500 teammates across the company who work diligently each and every day to drive our progress and deliver on our commitments."
