Toyota Offers New EV Model Customers Free Charging Access
Toyota Motor North America announced Feb. 24 that it will soon offer drivers of its new battery-electric SUV complimentary charging through a partnership with a nationwide charging network.
The automaker entered into an agreement with EVgo, the operator of the nation’s largest public fast-charging network of EVs. The agreement will allow those with the new Toyota bZ4X EV model to use EVgo’s network for free for one year.
Powered by 100% renewable energy, EVgo’s network is capable of charging all types of EVs and has more than 800 fast chargers and 1,200 L2 chargers across grocery stores, shopping malls, retail locations and other public spaces across 35 states. Toyota customers who purchase or lease a new 2023 Toyota bZ4X will be able to access the charging network for one year using the Toyota app.
“The arrival of our all-electric bZ4X marks an important step in our commitment towards electrifying 70% of our fleet by 2030. We want our bZ4X customers to enjoy a high-quality ownership experience that is as seamless and worry-free as possible,” Christopher Yang, Vice President of EV Charging Solutions at Toyota Motor North America, said in a statement. “Collaborating with EVgo, the nation’s largest public fast-charging network, will help provide bZ4X owners with access to a fast, reliable charge where and when they need it.”
