The Plan for Sustainability @ Bucknell
Bucknell University has released "The Plan for Sustainability @ Buckness: A Sustainable Living-learning Community 2020-2030. This 10-year aspirational plan for environmental sustainability is in accordance with the guidance from the University's strategic plan, which calls for efforts to address issues such as energy use and sourcing, biodiversity and natural habitat, and waste minimization and recycling, while publicly reaffirming and continuing the stated goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
"For many years, Bucknell has been an active participant in the environmental sustainability movement," said Victor Udo, Director, Campus Sustainability, in the Foreward of the report. "We recognize that appropriate technology adoption as well as individual and organizational behavioral changes are necessary for a sustainable future. Properly planned and implemented, sustainability programs are helping corporations, universities, and other institutions transition away from compliance and “environmentalism-centric” perspectives toward approaches that will accomplish strategic results in meaningful and lasting ways."
