NY Times Pledges Net Zero Goal by 2030

The New York Times Company announced that it has set a goal to achieve net zero emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) across its operations by year-end 2030.

The company is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and identifying opportunities to improve the sustainability of its business operations, according to a statement.

In 2022, the company conducted a GHG emissions inventory and plans to begin publishing its Scope 1 and 2 emissions data in 2023.  The Times focuses on operating efficient spaces, responsibly using resources and reducing GHG emissions.

The New York Times Company will continue to explore initiatives and opportunities to improve sustainability efforts and energy efficiency. This includes converting its roughly 70-vehicle delivery fleet from gas to electric and continuing updates to its headquarters and production facility at College Point to be more energy-efficient.
