Braze Completes Emissions Measurement Across All Scopes
Braze, a comprehensive customer engagement platform that powers interactions between consumers and brands, completed its annual GHG emissions measurement for its fiscal year 2023, which includes Scope 3 emissions. The company is developing a climate strategy to determine how to establish future GHG emissions reduction targets.
The company also bought energy attribute certificates for the first time, sourcing clean electricity for its estimated global office footprint in fiscal year 2023.
As detailed in its second annual Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, Braze partnered with a third-party expert to conduct a thorough GHG emissions footprint assessment for FY’23. This assessment adheres to the operational boundary approach recommended by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for corporate accounting and reporting. It encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of Scope 1-3 emissions, including upstream and downstream activities, using primary activity data and spend-based emission factors.
“Over the past year, we’ve made strides toward achieving our mission of using our technology, ecosystem, and people to advance equitable growth, accelerate science-based climate solutions, and create opportunity for underserved groups within our communities,” said Rod McLeod, VP of Social Impact at Braze, in a statement. “We are proud of the efforts outlined in our second annual ESG Report, and look forward to continuing to shape a future where inclusion and equity thrive alongside innovation.”
