Talos Energy Lowers Emissions by 30%
Talos Energy Inc. announced a 30% reduction in Scope 1 GHG emissions intensity ratio for 2022 compared to the 2018 baseline year and a 64% reduction in Scope 2 GHG emissions from its 2018 baseline year to 2022.
The oil and gas company committed to further reducing its GHG emissions on an absolute basis by 15% by 2030 from its new 2022 baseline.
The company expanded the Talos Low Carbon Solutions business and secured carbon capture projects supporting an estimated 1.7 billion tons of gross prospective storage resources.
Talos published details in its annual Sustainability Report and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Report for the 2022 calendar year.
The company's reports were developed with reference to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), United Nations' Sustainability Development Goals (UN SDG) and TCFD frameworks.
