HanesBrands Lowers Emissions by 53%, SBTi Approves Goals
HanesBrands Inc., a global company in apparel brands, announced a 53% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2019.
The company also announced a 41% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 intensity (kgCO2e per finished textile pound) since 2019 and that its science-based targets were approved by SBTi.
Hanesbrands, whose brands include Hanes, Champion, Bonds, Maidenform and Bali, announced nearly 60% of the electricity it consumes is from renewable sources and it has set a goal to reach 100% renewable electricity use.
Details of the company's progress toward sustainability goals were reported in its 2023 Sustainability Summary Report.
