EQ Office Lowers Emissions 8% Year-Over-Year
EQ Office announced notable environmental development including an 8% year-over-year decrease in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions.
The U.S. office portfolio company that operates workplace destinations also announced 53% of its square footage is powered by renewable energy, including on-site solar power and renewable energy credits, up from 49% the previous year.
EQ Office announced about 60% of its square footage is LEED certified, while 43% of its leases in place include sustainability-related clauses.
The company received 19 ENERGY Star certifications, covering 26% of the square footage of its portfolio. Details were published in its 2023 Sustainability and Social Impact Report, highlighting the company’s efforts to advance its environmental and social priorities.
“As the office sector continues to evolve at a rapid pace, EQ is focused on staying agile and adapting to better serve our customers and other key stakeholders,” said CEO Alex Vouvalides in a statement. “Our Sustainability and Social Impact initiatives and our go-forward strategy center on aligning and collaborating with our stakeholder network – particularly customers, vendors and employees – to maximize the positive impact of our efforts, accomplish common goals and drive value.”
