Carnival Adds Solar Parks at Mahogany Bay and Puerta Maya

Carnival Corporation & plc, a cruise company, announced it has expanded its renewable energy portfolio with the recent launch of new solar parks at two of its port destinations, Mahogany Bay Cruise Center in Roatán, Honduras, and Puerta Maya in Cozumel, Mexico. 

At Mahogany Bay, the company's new solar park comprises over 400 high-efficiency solar panels and is expected to supply 60-70% of the port’s total energy needs. 

At Puerta Maya, the newly installed solar panels will provide renewable energy to power the terminal facilities not including private businesses, helping reduce reliance on conventional electricity and contributing to Cozumel’s broader sustainability efforts.

These initiatives build on the company’s two successful solar projects unveiled last year, including at its Amber Cove Cruise Center in the Dominican Republic and at two of its Port of Barcelona cruise terminals, Palacruceros (Terminal D) and Helix Cruise Center (Terminal E).
