Logitech commits to 100% renewable energy by 2030
Logitech International announced Dec. 4 its commitment to the Paris Agreement and to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
The tech company committed to the international 1.5°C goal and to establish science-based targets to reduce its carbon emissions. They are already on their way to achieving their 100% renewable energy goal thanks to successful efforts to run its Lausanne, Switzerland and Cork, Ireland offices on 100% clean energy, which accounts for 75% of the company’s electricity consumption.
“For more than a decade, Logitech has actively worked to minimize our climate footprint while designing and delivering products that help better the world,” Bracken Darrell, president and CEO of Logitech, said in a statement. “As a small company playing in a global market, we appreciate the value of collaboration, and today we are publicly committing to being part of global efforts to co-create a more sustainable world. We recognize that Logitech’s growth does not come without an environmental impact and, while we have made progress, we have only just begun our efforts in designing for sustainability.”
Additionally, Logitech has achieved carbon-neutral products. All of the company’s gaming products are carbon-neutral, meaning that the carbon footprint of the materials, design, manufacturing, and shipment of all Logitech G and ASTRO Gaming products have been reduced to net-zero emissions.
