Bosch signs three new solar PPAs
The German automotive supplier Bosch announced on Aug. 5 three new long-term solar PPAs that will provide energy to their operations.
The company arranged contracts with utilities RWE, Vattenfall and Statkraft, but are also expanding the on-site generation of renewable energy at their own locations.
Chief executive Volkmar Denner said in a statement that last year Bosch released a carbon neutrality goal that they will be completing by the end of this year as a result of these three new agreements, which total over 100,000 MWh of clean electricity generation.
Under their respective agreement, Vattenfall will supply Bosch with power from a planned 10 MW solar farm starting in the first quarter of 2021. RWE subsidiary RWE Supply & Training will provide Bosch with 50 MW from a new solar plant over 16 years. Statkraft started supplying power to Bosch in May from nine solar parks totalling 47 MW in capacity under a 12-year deal.
