Kroger Expands EV Charging Access Across 10 States

The Kroger Co. increased its EV charging station availability at store locations across the U.S. through sweeping collaborations with various EV charging providers.

The project included the installation of more than 350 EV chargers at supermarket locations in areas of Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Several more chargers are expected to be installed by the end of the year, including in Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennesee and Virginia.

This massive EV charging expansion by Kroger was made possible through its collaboration with Blink, Electrify America, EVgo, Tesla and Volta.

“Increasing our customers' access to EV charging stations at convenient Kroger locations supports our collective transition to a lower-carbon economy,” Yael Cosset, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Kroger, said in a statement. “We are leveraging technology and innovation to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and are offering customers easy ways to live a more sustainable lifestyle.”
