City of Fairfield Conducts Solar, Efficiency Projects
The city of Fairfield in California will conduct several projects to expand several energy and infrastructure modernization services for its facilities.
A $30 million energy savings performance contract was awarded to the Willdan Group for the projects, which will enhance efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance through upgrades including on-site solar photovoltaic energy generation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and central plant renovations.
“These upgrades to City Hall, our police department, and other critical facilities will increase efficiency and resiliency while reducing climate impacts and generating long-term cost savings for our community,” said Marisa Cumpian, the City of Fairfield’s Senior Management Analyst, in a statement. “As the City continues to grow, we appreciate Willdan’s ongoing support in improving quality of life for our residents.”
Willdan has supported the City of Fairfield for over 25 years with engineering, special district, and federal compliance financial services, as well as electrification strategies for their transit and municipal fleets.
The City of Fairfield is home to the businesses Jelly Belly, Anheuser-Busch, Guittard Chocolate, and Clorox.
