Northwest Fire District receives 657 kW solar project

Northwest Fire District in Tucson, Ariz., will benefit from an expected 1.23 million kWh of clean energy annually thanks to a new solar project installed on their campus.

The 657 kW solar system was installed as parking lot shade canopies at multiple fire stations, a training center and an operations warehouse. The Northwest Fire District is a nonprofit organization that provides fire protection and multiple paramedic-staffed emergency transportation units to residential and commercial property owners in the community.

The project was financed by a Solar Service Agreement and required no upfront costs from Northwest Fire District. The system was completed by CI Labs and Urban Energy Solutions and will be owned and operated by Standard Solar.

“Adding the Northwest Fire District project to our expanding project portfolio underlines the success of our partnerships and the potential for solar growth in Arizona,” Jason Feng, director of channel partnerships, west, for Standard Solar, said in a statement. “As a long-term owner of solar assets with in-house financing capabilities, we are actively adding projects to drive the distributed generation solar market.”
