Moët Hennessy Targets 50% Emissions Cut

Moët Hennessy announced Oct. 26 its intention to reduce absolute emissions across all scopes by 50% before 2030, compared to 2019 levels.

The spirits company’s targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative for following the requirements of the Paris Agreement. To achieve its target, the company plans to focus on four areas: reducing the emissions from raw materials, designing eco-conscious packaging, deploying renewable energy, and increasing low-carbon transportation.

Moët Hennessy will work closely with external partners on further ways to achieve this target and plans to integrate the ambition into its daily operations.

“We believe we have an important responsibility alongside the wines and spirits industry to significantly reduce our carbon footprint throughout the value chain, while developing biodiversity in our regions,” President Philippe Schaus said in a statement. “We have set ambitious goals that we are committed to following regularly and integrating into Moët Hennessy's overall strategy.”
