Cargill adds 200 MW Illinois solar project to renewables portfolio
Cargill announced April 22 the execution of a VPPA for a 200 MW Illinois solar project that is expected to offset 285,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.
Utility acquires Geronimo Energy
National Grid, an investor-owned utility, has completed its $100 million acquisition of Geronimo Energy, a leading wind and solar developer in North America. The acquisition was made through its competitive non-regulated unit, National Grid Ventures
Walmart and Cargill join for wind VPPA
Cargill and Walmart are sharing the offtake of a new wind farm in South Dakota. Walmart first announced an agreement in April to purchase 150MW of wind power from Geronimo Energy’s 200MW Crocker Wind Farm. Cargil followed on October with the announcement of a 12-year VPPA for the remaining 50MW of the project.
