Albéa targets 15% efficiency improvement
Albéa, a beauty and personal care packaging company, plans to improve energy efficiency across its global facilities 15 percent by 2020 and improve sustainability reporting.
This goal marks the latest phase in a three-year partnership between Albea and Schneider Electric on an integrated energy and carbon management program, which includes strategic procurement to optimize utility contracts and rates to manage the risks and price volatility associated with energy sourcing. In a statement from Schneider Electric, the company noted it has also worked with Albéa to improve CDP reporting and evaluate science-based targets for additional, more rigorous climate action. With the addition of a company-wide energy procurement program, Albéa has adopted an integrated, data-oriented approach to managing the strategies, data, and resources needed to reduce consumption and maximize savings.
"Our clients are asking for more carbon management transparency from their suppliers, including detailed strategies to reduce consumption and emissions," said Gilles Swyngedauw, director for corporate social responsibility at Albéa. "Schneider Electric has provided the guidance and technologies that will allow us to address these dual goals and showcase our industry leadership."
Albéa provides packaging solutions to beauty and personal care companies including L'Oréal, Unilever, Coty, Estée Lauder, LVMH, and others. The company includes 38 sites across 15 countries worldwide.
