Colgate-Palmolive Targets Carbon Neutrality Across Supply Chain

Colgate-Palmolive reduced emissions 37.5% from 2002 to 2020 and now is accelerating its action on climate change.

The consumer products company is newly committed to reaching net zero carbon emissions across its own operations, suppliers and consumers. Through this goal, it will achieve net zero in its operations by 2040 and reach 100% renewable energy use for its global operations by 2030.

Colgate-Palmolive announced these targets in its new 2020 Sustainability & Social Impact Report, which revealed that 99% of new products launched in 2020 had improved sustainability profiles.

“Tackling big problems like climate change, plastic waste, water scarcity and health starts with us,” Ann Tracy, Colgate’s chief sustainability officer, said in a statement. “We are proud that our Colgate brand is in more homes than any other, which is why we believe it’s our responsibility to help make it easier for the people who buy and use our products to live healthier, more sustainable lives.”
