Port Authority of NY & NJ Completes Solar Installation
The Port Authority of NY & NJ recently received a 573 kW solar energy installation that will provide clean energy to the Port Authority Trans-Hudson's (PATH) MacMillan Bloedel Building and Train Control Center.
The onsite solar system was completed by Greenskies Clean Energy and Vanguard Energy Partners and is expected to reduce the Port Authority’s greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 11,925 metric tons over 25 years.
“Our partnership with Greenskies to install a solar energy system at the PATH Macmillan Bloedel Building and Train Control Center underscores the Port Authority’s commitment to directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions through projects at our facilities,” Christine Weydig, director of the Port Authority’s Office of Environmental and Energy Programs, said in a statement. “We thank Greenskies for their collaboration as we continue to lead the region towards a cleaner energy future.”
Greenskies was selected by the Port Authority to complete the 1,500-panel project alongside Vanguard following a Request for Proposals issued in October 2018.
