Yum! Brands Eyes 46% Emissions Cut

Yum! Brands released its latest sustainability detailing its new target to reduce emissions 46% between 2019 and 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

These targets will be applied to both restaurant locations and the company’s supply chain. Yum! Brands is the parent company of food chains like KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger Grill.

The company is also committed to converting 1,000 of its restaurants to renewable energy by the end of 2021 and joined the Renewable Energy Business Alliance (REBA) to help with this goal.

“We’ve sharpened our strategic focus as the growing intersection of business and corporate purpose has become clearer,” Jerilan Greene, global chief communications and public affairs officer of Yum! Brands, Inc. and chairman and CEO of the Yum! Foundation, said in a statement. “Our global scale gives us a big opportunity and a responsibility to make a material impact on the issues facing our people, communities and the planet and our brands are taking action to do that with ever greater ambition.”
