Potential Google data center gets wind power nod
The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission unanimously approved a series of contracts between Google and Xcel Energy to provide electricity for Google’s proposed new $600 million data center in Becker, Minn. Two wind farms operated by Xcel would be dedicated to the project.

Ball Corp. plans 100% RE by 2021
Ball Corporation has executed two VPPAs – one wind and one solar – for 388 megawatts of new renewable energy. These agreements will allow the company to address 100% of the North American electricity load utilized in its corporate, packaging and aerospace operations by the end of 2021.

General Mills heads for goals with VPPA
General Mills has taken a big step toward its climate goal by signing a 15-year VPPA for a wind project in central Texas. The new wind project will produce renewable energy credits for General Mills that, together with the company’s previous wind power agreement, are calculated to equal% 100 percent of the electricity used annually at the company’s owned domestic facilities.
